16u Perfect Game Championship

A GREAT showing for the 16u crew in their first tournament of the season. A rain-shortened tournament saw the Storm reach and win in the semifinals before a deluge opened up and rendered the fields unplayable canceling the championship game. Sat saw the Storm defeat a regionally known powerhouse New Jersey Elite team 1-0 in their first pool game of the weekend. Pitching was the name of the game. A 2 hit shutout was completed by Thylar Summarell, Trent Moyer, and Mike Dalton. The Storm's second pool game matched them up against a very talented East Coast Jays. Stormed jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead and pitcher Noah Horas clipped the Jays in a complete game 5-3 win.  Sunday had Storm matched up against the #1 seed overall Legit Baseball in the semifinal round. Storm scored 2 in the top of the first to take the lead. Legit scored 2 in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game. Storm then scored 2 in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead in a game that would be shortened by the rain. Legit could only muster 1 more runoff Storm pitching and the game would end after 5 innings. Final score 4-3. We will never know what might have happened in that championship game but by my account, there were storms in the sky and a good chance of a huge Storm on the diamond!
